Methylchloromethyl ether

METHYL CHLOROFORM see MIH275 METHYL CHLOROFOR LATE (DOT) see MIGOOO METHYLCHLOROMETHYL ETHER (DOT) see CIO250 METHYL CHLOROMETHYL ETHER, anhydrous (DOT) see CIO250... [Pg.1770]

METHYLCHLOROMETHYL ETHER (107-30-2) Forms explosive mixture with air (flash point 17°F/- 8°C). May be able to form unstable and explosive peroxides. Contact with oxidizers may cause fire and explosion. Decomposes on contact with water, forming hydrochloric acid and formaldehyde. Corrosive to various metals in the presence of moisture. Contact with cadmium(II) acetate, cobalt(II) nitrate, copper(II) nitrate, mercury(II) chlorate, mercury(II) perchlorate, iron(II) compounds, and many other divalent metallic compounds may form highly reactive or explosive products. Flow or agitation of substance may generate electrostatic charges due to low conductivity. [Pg.775]

SYNONYMS Chlorodimethyl ether, chloromethyoxymethane, dimethylchloroether, methylchloromethyl ether, monochlorodimethyl ether. [Pg.52]

Synonyms/Trade Names Chlorodimethyl ether, Chloromethoxymethane. CMME, Dimethylchloroether, Methylchloromethyl ether ... [Pg.66]

The use of methylchloromethyl ether in conjunction with SnCU, as an alternate procedure for chloromethylation, is demonstrated in the reaction of 1,3,5-trisopropylbenzene (12), yielding benzyl chloride 13. ... [Pg.594]
