Mesothelioma, photodynamic therapy

Recently, the first experimental clinical investigation on the local use of hypericin 1 as photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy in a patient with recurrent malignant mesothelioma has been reported [170]. A phase I clinical trail utilizing orally administrated hypericin 1 in patients harboring recurrent malignant gliomas is ongoing [146]. A review on the use of hypericin 1 in adjuvant brain tumor therapy has lately been published [146]. [Pg.678]
