Mesolimbic amygdala

The mesolimbic from the ventral tegmentum (VTA, AlO) to the nucleus accumbens, olfactory tubercule, amygdala and pyriform cortex... [Pg.355]

The mesolimbic system, where the dopaminergic projections originate in the ventral tegmental area, the A10 region, and then spread to the amygdala, pyriform cortex, lateral septal nuclei and the nucleus accumbens. [Pg.264]

Mesolimbic Midbrain ventral tegmentum (At 0 area) Limbic areas (e.g., amygdala, olfactory tubercle, septal nuclei), cingulate gyrus Arousal, memory, stimulus processing, motivational behavior Relief of psychosis... [Pg.1211]

Limbic System Dopaminergic projections from the midbrain terminate on septal nuclei, the olfactory tubercle and basal forebrain, the amygdala, and other structures within the temporal and prefrontal cerebral lobes and the hippocampus. The DA hypothesis has focused considerable attention on the mesolimbic and mesocortical systems as possible sites where antipsychotic effects are... [Pg.302]

Mesolimbic and mesocortical. These are dopaminergic neurons that project from the ventral tegmental area (VTA) to frontal and other cortical areas (mesocortical pathway) and to limbic structures such as the nucleus accumbens, the amygdala, and the olfactory tubercle (mesolimbic pathway). It is assumed that in schizophrenia, there is increased dopaminergic neurotransmission in the mesolimbic pathway and decreased transmission in the mesocortical region (see Section 4.1 for details). [Pg.95]
