Material received, checking An important factor in the production is that quality control of all types of incoming materials (plastics, steel, etc.) always conform and be checked against specifications. Unfortunately, with time after processing materials, specifications have to be changed to meet unforeseen important test. 

Check the quality of materials received against purchasing specifications. 

Incoming materials must be checked for conformance with the specification and purchase order, and then labeled accordingly. Materials received and stored must be compared with the purchase order and accompanying paperwork. Mechanics and crafts people must conduct a field audit of the materials before putting them into service. 

The quality of materials received in bulk tankers should be checked before they are transferred to bulk storage tanks. 

Firms have a receiving function to ensure that the material and equipment they actually receive are what the company ordered and paid for. Depending on the firm s relationship with its supplier, receipt of the material may be confirmed by the supplier itself, or it may be received by a separate function which performs only this task. The receiving function checks the quantity of material received and may perform quality control checks on it or send it to a quality control lab to do this. The receiving function records discrepancies and logs the receipt of the material into the system and then places it in its appropriate storage location until it is needed. 

The present scoring rules should be considered separately for each test and used as a basis for measuring performance in a specific test. Before establishing the final scoring, the Secretariat will check the consistency of material received in coordination with the laboratory which provided it. If the criteria contained in paragraph 2 of this Annex are met, the result of the laboratory will be scored as follows ... 

In the third level of SCOR every process is divided into detailed process elements. For example, source to stock category is divided into five elements, namely scheduling material, receiving material, checking material, stocking and payment. 

To fulfil the quality requirements, the material inputs going into the making of a bus system must be properly checked as soon as they are received. 

As in the first edition, all materials listed in this handbook have been used on the battlefield, stockpiled as weapons, received significant interest by research programs, used or threatened to be used by terrorists, or have been assessed by qualified law enforcement and response organizations as agents of significant concern. To assure accuracy, all data have been cross-checked over the widest variety of military, scientific, and medical sources available. 

Is each receipt of material checked No. There have been no problems with the supplier, so no such check has been considered. Investigate consequences of receiving material other than HF. Consider adding such checks on HF receipts. 

Reception arrangements need to provide for checking the safety of items being submitted, separation of items to prevent cross-contamination, initial identification of submitted material, and the preparation of aU the requisite documentation. After items have been received and documented they wiU need to be transferred to an appropriate storage area, whether this be for trace analysis, biohazard, explosive, flammable, toxic, or bulk debris. It is advisable to have pre-planned quarantine storage for anything whose characteristics or provenance cannot be guaranteed. 

Materials Control. This is a standard check to insure that the right product has been received. 

Materials and Apparatus. Hexafluorobutadiene, hexafluoropropane, and l, 2-di ch 1 oro-1,1-di fl uoroethane were purchased from PCR, methyl disulfide and chloroform from Aldrich, and deuterated chloroform from Stohler. These reagents were checked by infrared spectroscopy and used as received, except for the methyl disulfide, which was redistilled. 

When receiving bulk raw materials, the grade of the material must be carefully checked before it is transferred to any tank. In addition to visual and paper checks, it must be impossible from an engineered aspect to add an isocyanate to a polyol tank or a polyol to an isocyanate tank, as there may be an extremely severe reaction. 

Experiments were performed using toluene (Merck, purity > 99.5%), cyclohexane (Fluka, purity >99.5%), naphthalene (Merck, purity >99%), polystyrene (BASF, Mw = 101000 g/mol, Mn = 93000 g/mol) and carbon dioxide (Linde, technical grade, purity > 99.5%). The solvents were dried over molecular sieves. The water content was checked with Karl Fischer analysis. All other materials were used as received.
