Manifold clamped

Calculation of manifold clamping Az may be made approximately, assuming a stress distribution in the HR set in line with the stress-conic propagation principle. This makes for 5 calculation zones of different rigidity (see Figure 4.101). [Pg.201]

Injection The injection blow moulding machine is based on an extruder barrel and screw assembly which melts the polymer. The molten polymer is fed into a manifold where it is injected through nozzles into a hollow, heated preform mould. The preform mould forms the external shape and is clamped around a mandrel (the core rod) which forms the internal shape of the preform. The preform consists of a fully formed bottle/jar neck with a thick tube of polymer attached, which will form the body. [Pg.28]

After the sample of MoFe had been condensed into the quartz tube on the vacuum line, the valve was closed to isolate the sample, and the tube was removed from the vacuum manifold and weighed to obtain the weight of the MoFe by difference. The tube was then clamped in an upright position, and the MoFe was solidified. Void formation in the solid was minimized by a slow, progressive immersion of the tube in an ice bath. After the MoFe had completely frozen, the tube was immersed in a water bath of desired temperature, and the height of the solid surface with respect to the tip of the tube was measured with the cathetometer. [Pg.311]

If it should be necessary to replace any parts of the assembly or to reclamp any part of it, it is important to make sure that the assembly is not being strained by the clamps. This is best done by heating a section of the tubing between the clamps, so that the tubing may bend to accommodate any strain which may be present. This is not, of course, a problem in the initial assembly of the manifold, since all parts were clamped into place before being connected. [Pg.136]

For patch clamp measurements, the PDMS planar electrode array was plasma oxidized and then motmted in the recording system shown in Fig. 6. To electrically isolate each electrode, the partition was sealed onto the chamber bottom over an array of openings that each contained an Ag-AgCl wire and suction tubing. The Ag-AgCl wire was connected to the multiplexer chip mounted on the circuit board under the chamber. The multiplexer then connected to the input of the amplifier. The tubing connected to a suction manifold that permitted individual or global suction. [Pg.2678]

The complete fluid system is shown in Figure 7, where the solvents are contained in pressurized bottles and are selected by a rotary valve. The flow to the four-way manifold is controlled by a two-way ON/OFF valve or pinch clamp in silicone tubing. The use of a manifold enables solvents to be dehvered to four wells simultaneously. Alternatively, the solvents can be delivered by means of a multichannel pipette, operating with alternate channels delivering into four wells at a time. [Pg.315]
