Evaluation criteria were based on the number of peptides isolated that yielded sequence, the recovery of very hydrophobic or glycosylated peptides, and the compatibility of each method with MALDI mass spectrometric analysis. 

FAB and MALDI mass spectrometric analyses of both polymers reveals that only macromolecules having hydroxy end-groups are formed by this interesting synthetic procedure. Figure 7.10 reports the FAB spectrum of the oligomers present in the unfractionated poly(l,2-dihydroxy-4-methylbenzene phthalate). Remarkably, the spectrum shows peaks up to m/z values of 6000,... 

Label-free methods use the intrinsic properties of proteins to report binding events on protein chips.
