Major Contractors Group

The Major Contractors Group (MCG) represents the UK s large construction companies. MCG s members carry out over 20 billion worth of construction work each year. 

This report describes the results of the Shawnee Lime and Limestone Wet Scrubbing Test Program conducted by EPA s Industrial Environmental Research Laboratory, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (IERL-RTP). In this program, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) tests were conducted at the EPA 10 MW prototype Shawnee Test Facility located at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) coal-fired Shawnee Power Station near Paducah, Kentucky. Bechtel Group, Inc. of San Francisco was the major contractor and test director, and TVA was the constructor and facility operator. At the same time, Hercules was forced to cut back on another of its major product lines, those of its aerospace products group. During the 1980s it had been a principal contractor for the Defense Department s rocket motor systems. The group s products came to include those for the Trident If and SCAM missiles, and the Trident IV and Delta 11 Space Launch Programs. In 1989 Hercules had to post a 96 million loss for taking 327 million overcharges on these products. Then the explosion of the Trident IV in 1991 led to further losses. Finally, in 1995, Hercules sold off its aerospace business. ... 

The four major locations whose populations would be of immediate interest are the SNL/NM TAs I, III, and IV, and the KAFB Headquarters. The TA-I/KAFB Headquarters complex is located about 5.4 km (3.4 mi) north of the HCF in TA-V. This complex has a total population of about 12,000 persons during normal business hours, which is the largest population group in the SNL/NM/USAF complex on KAFB. Of this number, about 8000 are SNL/NM employees and contractors. The remainder are associated with or attached to the various military and civilian government organizations. 

Lapua, or more officially Nammo Lapua Oy, is part of the large Nordic Nam-mo Group a major defense contractor headquartered in Finland. The principal products are small caliber cartridges and components for civilian and professional use. Lapua s cartridge factory was built in 1923.
