I will be using an E-E eore with the neeessary Mylar tape insulating layers to meet the isolation requirements of the safety approval ageneies. The material should be the K material from Magnetics, Inc, 3C85 material from Phillips, or N67 material from Siemans.

Magnetic coupling due to stray inductive pick-up of high-frequency noise by the traces and components can circumvent the filter all together. Added to this is the fact that the common-mode filter choke looks more and more capacitive above its self-resonance frequency. The net result is the designer needs to be concerned about the high-frequency behavior of the filter typically above 20 to 40 MHz.

Structural binder A wide range of applications in electronics makes use of the plastics as a structural binder to hold active materials. For example, a plastic such as polyvinylidene fluoride is filled with an electroluminescent phosphor to form the dielectric element in electroluminescent lamps. Plastics are loaded with barium titanate and other high dielectric powders to make slugs for high K capacitors. The cores in high frequency transformers are made using iron and iron oxide powders bonded with a plastic and molded to form the magnetic core.
