Magnesium polymeric compounds

MOLYBDENUM TRIOXIDE or MOLYBDENUM(VI) OXIDE or MOLYBDIC ANHYDRIDE or MOLYBDIC TRIOXIDE (1313-27-5) M0O3 Violent reaction with strong oxidizers interhalogens, chlorine trifluoride, bromine pentafluoride interhalogens molten magnesium hot lithium, potassium, sodium. Incompatible with common metals, alkali metals, lithium, magnesium, potassium, sodium. Forms a series of polymeric compounds with acids and bases. Thermal decomposition releases toxic metallic fumes. On small fires, use dry chemical powder (such as Purple-K-Powder), Halon , or COj extinguishers. [Pg.745]

Rotomolding additives include nucleating agents, such as, inoiganic substances such as talcum, metal oxides such as titanium dioxide or magnesium oxide, phosphates, carbonates or sulfates of, preferably, alkaline earth metals organic compounds such as mono- or polycarbojQ lic acids and their salts, e g., 4-tert-butylbenzoic add, adipic acid, diphenylacetic acid, sodium succinate or sodium benzoate polymeric compounds such as ionic copolymers (ionomers). ... [Pg.118]

A wide variety of different magnesium compounds have been investigated to produce highly-active ethylene polymerization catalysts. The characteristics of the polymers produced with highly-active Mg/Ti-based catalysts are determined by the type of magnesium-containing compound used in the catalyst preparation. But the important characteristics of the finished solid catalyst material include polymerization kinetic profile, particle size, particle size distribution, and particle shape (spherical or irregular). [Pg.74]

Uses. Magnesium alkyls are used as polymerization catalysts for alpha-alkenes and dienes, such as the polymerization of ethylene (qv), and in combination with aluminum alkyls and the transition-metal haUdes (16—18). Magnesium alkyls have been used in conjunction with other compounds in the polymerization of alkene oxides, alkene sulfides, acrylonitrile (qv), and polar vinyl monomers (19—22). Magnesium alkyls can be used as a Hquid detergents (23). Also, magnesium alkyls have been used as fuel additives and for the suppression of soot in combustion of residual furnace oil (24). [Pg.340]

The ammonium chloride solution is prepared by dissolving 50 g. of ammonium chloride in 150 cc. of water at 25-30°. The literature recommends the use of 30 per cent sulfuric acid for decomposing the magnesium compound when this is used, the yield drops to 50 -55 per cent, probably owing to the ready polymerization of the hydrocarbon in the presence of mineral acids. [Pg.33]

Cationic diorganoaluminum species with non-coordinating anions are activators in the high-temperature polymerization of olefins, while mixtures of AlEt3/B(C6F5)3 also show moderate activity for the polymerization of ethylene. Neutral magnesium, calcium, and zinc compounds, in turn, have been used as catalysts for the polymerization of... [Pg.342]

Early investigations on organometallic (—)-sparteine complexes concern the nucleophilic addition of lithium, magnesium and zinc complexes onto carbonyl compounds, utilization in polymerization and also NMR spectroscopic investigations ... [Pg.1058]
