LOXAPINE Individualize dosage. Administer 2 to 4 times/day in divided doses. [Pg.1133]

Loxapine is available in oral liquid, oral capsule, and injectable dosage forms. The principal exposure pathway is intentional ingestion by adults or accidental ingestion by children. [Pg.1560]

A study is reported in which the effects of loxapine, haloperidol and placebo were compared, double-blind, in the treatment of acute episodes or exacerbation of symptoms in 75 adolescent schizophrenic patients. The active drugs showed a marked therapeutic superiority to placebo. Average daily dosage of drugs given was 87.5 mg of loxapine, and 9.8 mg of haloperidol. [Pg.43]

A trial is reported of loxapine in 12 acutely psychotic patients. The drug was given parenterally in the first 6 patients in a dosage of 75 mg daily, and in the second 6 patients of 100 mg daily. Four of the patients on the lower dosage experienced unwanted effects and all of those on the higher dosage (Table 6) (32 =). [Pg.44]
