Logic resolved

For SIL 3 and SIL 4, there needs to be some hardware fault detection on all parts of the system, i.e. sensors, input/output circuits, logic resolver, output elements and both the communication and memory should have error detection. 

If the simulated system uses periodic boundary conditions, the logical long-range interaction includes a lattice sum over all particles with all their images. Apart from some obvious and resolvable corrections for self-energy and for image interaction between excluded pairs, the question has been raised if one really wishes to enhance the effect of the artificial boundary conditions by including lattice sums. The effect of the periodic conditions should at least be evaluated by simulation with different box sizes or by continuum corrections, if applicable (see below). 

In summary, chemical force microscopy appears to be a powerful tool for the study of adhesion on the nanoscale provided that issues such as the detrimental influence of mechanical effects, substrate roughness, packing density, unknown tip radius, and reliance on statistical analysis can somehow be resolved in a consistent and logical way. 

Higashimura, Kanoh, and Okamura [29] drew attention to the fact that we, like all previous authors, had misinterpreted the spectrum given by styrene in presence of acids this matter, like some of the queries raised in their paper, has now been resolved. However, they are mistaken in their criticism of our pseudocationic theory on the grounds that we had misinterpreted the spectra. The two questions are in no way logically related. Similarly, the paper of Gantmakher and Medvedev [30] confuses the two issues and adds nothing which clarifies the position. 

Ferromanganese oxides. An extensive Mo isotope dataset is now available for ferromanganese crusts and nodules, which are enriched in Mo and hence are logical targets for early isotopic investigations (Barling et al. 2001 Siebert et al. 2003). These include nodules from the Paciflc and Atlantic Oceans, and crusts from the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Nodule data are of bulk samples, but Paciflc and Atlantic crust data are time-resolved at l-3 million year intervals from the present back to 60 million years ago. 

After the tree is developed, and before moving on to the recommendations and deliberations, the team should ask, Are there any other causes that anyone had in mind at the beginning of this meeting that are not included in the tree If additional causes are identified, the team adds them to the tree if there is logic to support them. Some team members may have specific concerns that the logic tree has not adequately resolved. This is the point at which remaining issues are surfaced and addressed. 

The next item in the loop is a decision point for possibly introducing the use of inductive reasoning methods into the deliberations. If the deductive process continues to indicate progress, then additional facts are procured or the logic tree is restructured. For example, one witness stated a particular valve was open, yet the post-incident inspection found it to be closed. The team must be careful to ensure that the valve is closed because of the actions taken prior to the incident, and not as a result of post-event response activities. The position of this particular valve may be a critical item in determining which of two scenarios is the more probable case. The incident investigation team would then initiate a short-term action item to conduct a mini-investigation to resolve this question. 

The conformational ambiguity of the histidine side chain is resolved when histidine coordinates to a metal ion. Logically, only N , and not C-H, may coordinate to a metal. The tautomeric ambiguity of the neutral histidine side chain is similarly resolved when histidine coordinates to a metal ion. Interestingly, the complexation of histidine with zinc may affect the tautomeric equilibrium, since the majority of histidine ligands found in zinc protein structures are in the N8-H form (Chakrabarti, 1990c). 

Because maintenance of euthymia first requires attainment of euthymia, initial efficacy is the logical starting point, but it is only the starting point. A deluge of studies have compared numerous antidepressants with placebo, and with each other, to determine if one might be better than another in ability to end the acute episode of depression. Most studies (Elkin et al. 1989] conclude that available antidepressants are approximately equal in their capacity to resolve acute episodes of typical MDD. 

Despite all these nice features of the approach of [23] its result (as well as a corrected result of a later paper [24]) contradicted the result in [14]. The discrepancy was resolved in [25], where a new logically independent calculation of the recoil corrections of order (Za) (m/M)m was performed. A subtle error in dealing with cutoffs in [23] was discovered and the result of [14] was confirmed. The recoil correction of order (Za) (m/M)m for S states with arbitrary principal quantum number n beyond that which is already contained in (3.5) has the form [14, 25]...
