Visible light activated resin compositions containing calcium hydroxide have been made available as cavity lining materials (99) for pulp capping and pulpotomy, and may offer in other appHcations an alternative to the calcium sahcylate type cements. 

Hydrogen peroxide can also be activated by ultraviolet radiation or o2one and ultraviolet radiation (178,188,189). One of the most active fields in waste treatment is ultraviolet-cataly2ed oxidation with hydrogen peroxide (190—194). The total number of calories a person needs each day is the sum of the basal requirement plus the energy used for physical activities, as shown in Table 29.1. A relatively inactive person needs about 30% above basal requirements per day, a lightly active person needs about 50% above basal, and a very active person such as an athlete or construction worker may need 100% above basal requirements. The interaction between the receptor and the G-protein is transient and rapidly reversible. This is indicated, for example, by the fact that a single light-activated rhodopsin molecule may activate 500 to 1000 transducin molecules during its 1 to 3 sec lifetime. Hence, the interaction should, in the endpoint, be governed by the normal laws of chemical interaction and expressible in terms of association and dissociation rate constants and binding affinity. Fluorescence method This method for nonconducting liquids uses fluorescein dye. The blue light activates fluorescence, and the green light, which has intensity directly proportional to the film thickness (Hewitt, 1969-1970), is emitted.
