Lifting Machines and Risk Analysis

A crane is a lifting machine used to move a load vertically and horizontally within a designated area. The character of lifting machine operations represents a source of potential danger of a serious nature and, therefore, this kind of machinery is included in the group of restricted technical equipment. 

On the basis of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method, it is possible to analyze hazards and, consequently, define risks that stem from a malfunction of the given equipment.
