The waste oil is frequently used as a fuel in industrial and utiHty boilers, often in combination with other fuels. In many cases such combustion sources have no emission control, and an estimated 50% of the lead input is emitted to the atmosphere in particulate form [1]. An emission factor of 4.8(M)kg m of waste oil, where M is the percentage by weight of lead in the waste oil, is estimated [1].
