Latex industrial

Hot air, steam, and hot water vulcanisation is widely used in the latex industry, and fluid-bed heat transfer and electronic microwave curing has also been used. Cross-linking by electron radiation has been experimentally used, but has not yet been developed commercially. [Pg.261]

Dithiocarbamates are generally classed as ultra accelerators. When used alone they suffer from poor processing safety, due to a very rapid vulcanisation speed. They are usually used in combination with slower acting accelerators, except in the latex industry where elevated processing temperatures are not encountered. [Pg.129]

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND CHALLENGES IN THE EUROPEAN LATEX INDUSTRY... [Pg.36]

This article presents views expressed during a presentation made at the recent Third Annual International Latex Conference, held in Ohio, on the subject of stringent natural rubber latex regulations in the US A. There is a fear that over-zealous regulation of latex products is threatening the entire US latex industry. [Pg.71]

The use of porous formers in the dipping process, or porous molds prepared from plaster of Paris or unglazed porcelain with a surface pore size smaller than the majority of mbber particles, has been widely adopted in the latex industry. With the porous porcelain formers, the mbber particles are filtered on the surface of the formers. The mbber latex coagulates because of its high concentration to form a film of increasing thickness as more water is absorbed into the ceramic. Its rate of increase diminishes sharply beyond an optimum period of time, however, depending on the various characteristics of the ceramic. [Pg.258]

The current state of the rubber latex industry is reviewed and recent trends in the industry are examined. Aspects covered include supply of NR latex and synthetic latex, trade in NR latex, prices for NR latex and synthetic latex. [Pg.48]

Adsorption of the oligomer at the polymer-water interface in latex is accompanied by colloidal stabilizing action of the oligomer. Quantitative evaluation of the stabilizing tendency is made by means of a high speed stirring test, the general nature of which is well known in the latex industry and has been critically discussed in the technical literature (5). [Pg.146]

It can be expected that today s desk-top PCS instruments will become smaller, perhaps even truly portable. Given the simplicity of operation, this could lead to even more widespread use in the latex industry as well as in the measurement of liposomes and other applications where the product performance can often and usefully be described with one or two parameters of the size distribution. [Pg.184]

It is worth mentioning here that the latex industry requires film-forming latexes. Therefore, all the waterborne polymer lay nanoeomposites synthesized with model styrene are not very useful for industrial applications. [Pg.217]
