The major constituents of the plant Ambrosia maritima L. were isolated using TLC and identified by IR and GC-MS. From HPLC screening, ambrosin and damsin were detected at high levels in the leaves and flowers, while stems and seeds contained only traces. Sesquiterpenes from Aucklandia lappa (Decne.) were determined by HPLC. A Shim-pack CLC-ODS column (6.0 x 150 mm) was used as separation column, Me0H-H20 (65 35) as mobile phase, and the detection wavelength was 225 nm.
