Ambrosia maritima

Sesquiterp. cedrane and duprezianane (Juniperus spp., Cupressaceae, Gymn. Barrero 2000) rearr. dumortanes (Dumortiera spp., Marchantiales liverworth, Bryoph. from Argentina Asakawa 1995) pseudoeuaiane Ambrosia maritima L., Compositae, Ang. from Meditrarranean and Africa AY). [Pg.31]

The plant Achillea clusiana from the mountains of Bulgaria contains the new 2-epi-chIoroklotzchin (256), which is the first report of a halogenated sesquiterpene lactone from Achillea genus (512). Chloroform was used to process the plant. The Egyptian medicinal plant Ambrosia maritima, which is still used to treat renal colic and other aliments, has afforded 1 lp-hydroxy-13-chloro-l 1,13-dihydrohymenin (257) (513). Eupaglehnins E (258) and F (259) are novel germacranolides isolated... [Pg.40]

The major constituents of the plant Ambrosia maritima L. were isolated using TLC and identified by IR and GC-MS. From HPLC screening, ambrosin and damsin were detected at high levels in the leaves and flowers, while stems and seeds contained only traces. Sesquiterpenes from Aucklandia lappa (Decne.) were determined by HPLC. A Shim-pack CLC-ODS column (6.0 x 150 mm) was used as separation column, Me0H-H20 (65 35) as mobile phase, and the detection wavelength was 225 nm. [Pg.1594]

Thiophene A and thiophene A diol are the major polyacetylenes isolated from the hairy root of Ambrosia maritima L. (Asteraceae) [293]. Their chemical structures were determined by mass spectroscopy and using DEPT 135, HMQC (heteronuclear multiple quantum coherence), and HMBC (heteronuclear multiple bond coherence) NMR experiments (Figure 5.79). [Pg.488]
