Landing zone

Surfaces of heads were checked after the CSS tests by an optical inspection. For the heads with X-IP hlms about 1.3 nm thick, both clear surfaces of the head and disk in the landing zone were obtained after the CSS test as shown in Figs. 18(a) and 18(h). Nevertheless, there were some liquid droplets of PFPE on the surfaces of heads with X-1P films at 2.53 nm thick as shown in Figs. 18(c)and 18(d). It also can be seen that there were footprints on the surfaces of disks where the head had parked for 24 h as shown in Figs. 18(e) and 18(f). It indicates that the thick X-IP him will result in the dewetting of PFPE.

The first bombs developed by the US Navy, CBU-55, were used in Vietnam, and tests to perfect an advanced version of the weapons system have continued. The CBU-55B air-to-surface free-fall cluster bombs were developed for helicopter.and siow-speed fixed-wing aircraft delivery to clear helicopter landing zones of mines booby traps. This FAE bomb was designed to disperse a mixt of vaporized fuel (ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, m e thy lacetylene/propa diene/pro pane and others) in a cloud 50 ft in dram and approx 8 ft thick. It has three 100-lb individual canisters 13.6 inches in diam by 21 inches long, each containing ca 72 lbs of fuel. The canisters separate from the dispenser after...

Cheap mixture of ammonium nitrate, water, aluminium powder and polystyrene adhesive as a bonding agent. First used in the 6.75 t free fall bomb BLU-82 ( Daisy cutter or aerosol bomb ). The peak pressure of the bomb ignited approximately 1 m above ground reaches 70 bar in a radius of 30 m. GSX has been used for mine field clearing and for Instant helicopter landing zones in the Viet Nam jungle-war. 

Arrival and exiting of ambulances/buses should be by one route only to keep possible contamination to a minimum. These routes should be clearly marked with yellow perimeter tape and enforced by guards. Landing zones for arriving helicopters should be far enough away from the hospital so that prop wash from their rotor blades do not recontaminate decontaminated individuals. 

Conceal landing zones (LZs), drop zones (DZs), or pickup zones (PZs). (For friendly LZs, DZs, and PZs the smoke is placed to restrict enemy observation without interfering with friendly operations )... 

Therefore, methods such as hybrid procedures, sandwiches, chimneys and snorkels, and on-site and in situ fenestrations have been developed. Hybrid procedures involve open surgery to create bypasses to the renal and mesenteric arteries, followed by covering all the branches with a conventional stent graft so as to extend the landing zone. Chimneys or snorkels involve placing a parallel, smaller sized covered stent into the renal arteries so that blood flows to the kidneys. However, there is concern that endoleaks will cause blood to flow between the aortic stent-graft and the renal chimney. There is a similar concern when more than one bifurcated device is inserted or sandwiched in the same aneurysmal sac so as to provide blood flow to several extensions simultaneously. The body of such devices needs to take on a D shaped cross-section so as to avoid endoleaks between the devices and the aneurysmal sac. 

There are many recent series reporting results of stent graft repairs in AVG but with small number of patients and limited follow-up contraindications of this method include overt graft infection, presence of skin erosion, need to cross the elbow or axilla and lack of adequate landing zones [18, 19]. Aneurysms are often associated with proximal stenosis and both lesions should be treated simultaneously [18].
