The wastewater sample, collected at the WWTP influent, extracted by SPE and analyzed by HPLC-MS/MS, reveals cocaine presence at 318 ppb concentration levels and it can be readily analyzed by HPLC-HR MS/MS (Fig. 3.3). Samples collected from surface water, in rivers like the Lambro River (Fig. 3.4) and in Po River (Fig. 3.5) can still be detected with this approach, even if concentration decreases down to approximately 1 ppb.
