In 2004, the KAERI together with the Korean Institute of Energy Research (KIER) and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), received a contract from the MOST to launch the Project Nuclear Hydrogen Production Technology Development and Demonstration(NHDD) . Researchers at the Korean Institute of Energy Research developed a methanol fuel reformer [36]. The system included a vaporizer and reformer based on sheet architecture with etched microchannels. The overall design parameters of tihe SMART is shown in Table 1. SMART is expected to fully satisfy the Korean as well as the international safety and licoising requirements.
