Reformers’ connection

Description The fresh paraffin feedstock is combined with paraffin recycle and internally generated steam. After preheating, the feed is sent to the reaction section. This section consists of an externally fired tubular fixed-bed reactor (Uhde reformer) connected in series with an adiabatic fixed-bed oxyreactor (secondary reformer type). In the reformer, the endothermic dehydrogenation reaction takes place over a proprietary, noble metal catalyst. [Pg.120]

Researchers at the Korean Institute of Energy Research developed a methanol fuel reformer [36]. The system included a vaporizer and reformer based on sheet architecture with etched microchannels. The microreactor consisted of a vaporizer and a reformer connected serially. The prototype generated sufficient hydrogen for a power output of 15 W. [Pg.917]

American reformers seem to have no idea, at any time or in any connection, that the only remedy for wrong is right that moral education, self-control, good manners, will save the world and that legislation is not merely a broken reed, but a suffocating vapor. Further, an excess of legislation defeats its own ends. It makes the whole population criminals, and turns them all into policemen and spies. The moral health of such a people is ruined for ever only revolution can save it. [Pg.23]

The (additional) costs of C02 capture in connection with hydrogen production from natural gas or coal are mainly the costs for C02 drying and compression, as the hydrogen production process necessitates a separation of C02 and hydrogen anyway (even if the C02 is not captured). Total investments increase by about 5%-10% for coal gasification plants and 20%-35% for large steam-methane reformers (see also Chapter 10). [Pg.183]

The quasi-IRC calculations confirm that TS B9 connects structures B3 and BIO. In complex BIO, the transfer of H3 from Zr2 to N2 is complete, the Zr -N2 bond is completely broken, and N (H ) reattaches itself to Zr2. This reformation of the latter bond shows that its breaking in B9 was a step to facilitate the main process. The detachment of the N l 2 group from Zr2... [Pg.347]

When the process of chain growth is satisfactorily completed, separation of the three hydrocarbon chains that are connected to the aluminum atom is accomplished by a displacement reaction. The chain-laden aluminum compound (called trialkyl aluminum compounds) is subjected to still higher temperatures and pressure. This causes an ethylene molecule to displace the long linear carbon chain. As the separation is made, triethyl aluminum is reformed, making a recyclable root for another go-around. [Pg.305]

Figure 4.6 One way to unfold a cube. The arrows show a way of folding the faces to reform the cube—for example, the bottom face connects to the top face. Figure 4.6 One way to unfold a cube. Another type of relation in surface chemistry is shown in Figure 4.23. Here transition state energies are shown for the same surface (Pt(lll)), but for a number of different — and —C bond cleavage reactions that may occur in connection with the reforming of ethanol [78]. This is an interesting reaction which finds application in hydrogen production from renewable bio-resources [79]. [Pg.285]

The methanation reaction is primarily used to remove any traces of CO and C02 in the hydrogen feed gas for ammonia synthesis. The reaction has been known for more than a century [141]. This reaction has found renewed interest in connection with the transformation of coal to natural gas. The hydrogen for ammonia synthesis is here normally produced by steam reforming with subsequent water gas... [Pg.313]
