2D simplified Fellenius method (SFM) is employed to calculate the landslide stability in the dam reservoir area in Japan. While 3D stability calculation methods should be used for the landslides which have asymmetrical cross-section, large volume and shallow sliding surface. The equation of SFM is as follows  [Pg.60]
