Most ipecac alkaloids are found in the family Rubiaceae, often in the genus Cephaelis but they are known to occur in other genera as well. These alkaloids have been found in the genera Borreria, Bothriospora, Capirona, Ferdi-nandusa, Hillia, Psychotria and Uragoga (synonyms of Cephaelis) Remija, and Tocoyena (Rubiaceae). [Pg.612]
