International Scenario

The structural strengthening techniques making use of composite materials, also known as FRP, currently represent a sound reality in national and international scenarios, and have become a constituent part of the restoration works of buildings impacted by earthquakes that have hit many countries.

We take a Bayesian approach to research process modeling, which encourages explicit statements about the prior degree of uncertainty, expressed as a probability distribution over possible outcomes. Simulation that builds in such uncertainty will be of a what-if nature, helping managers to explore different scenarios, to understand problem structure, and to see where the future is likely to be most sensitive to current choices, or indeed where outcomes are relatively indifferent to such choices. This determines where better information could best help improve decisions and how much to invest in internal research (research about process performance, and in particular, prediction reliability) that yields such information.

There are multiple ways of deciding between the two former scenarios, and in particular to try to see if pollution might indeed have played an important role in increasing the metal content of the planet host stars relative to their non-planet host counterparts. Probably the most clear argument is based on stellar internal structure. Material falling into a star s surface would induce a different increase in [Fe/H] depending on the depth of its convective envelope, where mixing can occur. However, no correlation is found between the metallicity of the planet host stars and their convective envelope mass (e.g. [16,21]). 

Two completely different scenarios attempt to explain the presence of large Li abundances among the RGB stars. One is the result of an external contamination (pollution) produced by the engulfing of near giant planets or brown dwarfs companions. The second one is the result of an internal action known as the Cameron-Fowler 7Be mechanism. Here, we will make a brief discussion of both.

A tank containing liquid butane (C4H10) is located 500 ft from an electrical substation. Internal Detonations or Explosions An internal detonation or explosion may occur due to several scenarios. Air leakage into the system may cause a combustible mixture to form, undesired chemical reactions may occur, and extremely rapid vapor expansion may occur. These almost instantaneous events have to be carefully protected against as many overpressure devices do not react quickly enough to prevent the vessel from rupturing.
