The assessment should also seek out systems for measuring performance. Remember that there is a need to measure both PSM and ESH performance, as well as the effectiveness of the processes in place. It is likely that at least some PSM and ESH performance measures will be in place, such as injury rates, number of incident investigations, regulatory infractions and insurance premiums. Your questions should probe for issues that managers track, but perhaps only informally, that could provide new measures of performance. 

The analysis of thin films is often performed by infrared spectroscopy. Compared to reflection absorption measurements on metal surfaces using p-polarized fight at grazing incidence, investigation of self-supported thin films or of thin films on transparent substrates shows weaker infrared absorption bands. Weaker absorption bands are caused by the absence of the surface enhancement mechanism and the poorer reflectivity. On the other hand, due to the absence of the metal selection rule, spectra of p- and s-polarization can be recorded in the case of freestanding films or of transparent substrates. In accordance with previous investigations [8,9], toese experiments have shown a quite different behaviour for N (ls )than for other multicharged ions such as the isoelectronic ion [10. The single-electron capture process has been shown to be dominant on the n = 3 levels and in particular on the 3s level for collision energies lower than 50 keV. A high probability of double capture has also been observed characterized by an intense peak at X = 76.5 nm attributed to the 2s 2s 2p P transition [4,5,7], Furthermore, for this system, metastable levels can be populated by foil exeitation and may thus be present in the incident beam. This larger perspective is made possible in two ways. First, by integrating economic models and databases, LCA can address impacts and performance measures of groups that are routinely tracked at the level of economic sectors rather than at the level of engineering-unit processes. Extending the equipment, the authors (Beale et al., 2005) recently added energy dispersive X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). Raman and UV-vis spectra are recorded by illuminating opposite sides of a catalyst bed in a vertical tubular reactor and detecting the scattered and reflected light as described above.
