Impregnation ligand

The most widely used approach for the separation of enantiomers by TLC is based on a ligand exchange mechanism using commercially available reversed-phase plates impregnated with a solution of copper acetate and (2S,4R,2 RS)-4-hydroxy-l-(2-hydroxydodecyl)proline in optimized amounts. Figure 7.9 (10,97,98,107-109). Enantiomers are separated based on the differences in the stability of the diastereomeric complexes formed between the sample, copper, and the proline selector. As a consequence, a prime requirement for separation is that the seumple must be able to form complexes with copper. Such compounds include... [Pg.858]

For the preparation of CoSalophen Y the Co—Y was impregnated by salicy-laldehyde, and 1,2-phenylenediamine in methanol was added slowly to the mixture.107 This was a successful encapsulation of a salen-type complex with larger diamine than the ethylenediamine, a successful preparation of an encaged metal-salen complex by the intrazeolite ligand synthesis method, and a successful intrazeolite synthesis using two different precursor molecules. [Pg.255]

Before preparing these carbon-supported Pt-based catalysts, a support pretreatment toward granular activated carbon with an aqueous solution of NaOH (pH 14) was carried out by immersing for 24 h to promote the anion exchange between the ligand chloride of impregnated metal precursers (K2PtCl4) and the aqueous hydroxide ion (OH ) inside the micropores of the activated carbon [33]. [Pg.443]

In heterogeneous catalysis post-impregnation treatments such as calcination and reduction are usually performed to remove ligands or their residues. In some cases the removal of heteroatoms such as carbon, sulfur or chloride is tedious and can... [Pg.359]

Heat treatment of carbon black impregnated with a salt of [Fe(phen)3] gives an oj gen reduction catalyst. i The compounds [Fc2(88)Cl4], [Fe(89)Cl2] and [Fe(90)Cl2] are potential ethene polymerization catalysts they all contain five-coordinated iron(II). The chiral terpy ligands (91) (R R = all three combinations of H, Pr ) and the Schiff base analogue (92), also... [Pg.441]

The first fixed-bed application of a supported ionic liquid-phase catalyst was hydroformylation of propylene, with the reactants concentrated in the gas phase (265). The catalyst was a rhodium-sulfoxantphos complex in two ionic liquids on a silica support. The supported ionic liquid phase catalysts were conveniently prepared by impregnation of a silica gel with Rh(acac)(CO) and ligands in a mixture of methanol and ionic liquids, [BMIMJPFg and [BMIM][h-C8Hi70S03], under an argon atmosphere. [Pg.221]

The usefulness of this ligand in the construction of Ca2+-sensors has been confirmed. The selectivity behavior of a liquid membrane, which consists of a filter paper impregnated with a 20% solution of the ligand in p-nitroethylbenzene (117), was determined by means of EMF-measure-ments conducted on the cell ... [Pg.155]

The membrane at the bottom of the electrode in Figure 15-20 is made from poly(vinyl chloride) impregnated with ion exchanger. One particular Ca2+ liquid ion exchanger consists of the neutral hydrophobic ligand (L) and a salt of the hydrophobic anion (Na R ) dissolved in a hydrophobic liquid ... [Pg.315]
