Immune response against Listeria monocytogene

We have shown that oral administration with hot water extracts (CVE) significantly augmented the host defense against infection with Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) [10]. L. monocytogenes is one of an intracellular bacteria, as well as Mycobacterium tuberculosis [11-12]. The protective mechanism against Listeria infection depends mainly on the immune response mediated by ap T cells [13]. [Pg.766]

The incidence of food-bome infections from Listeria monocytogenes has increased dramatically in the past years the lack of an effective vaccine against this intracellular pathogen has encouraged the use of archaeosomes entrapped Sags formulation. The vaccine not only enhances cytotoxic T cell response but also helps in the clearance of pathogens, thereby increasing the survival of immunized animals. ... [Pg.396]
