Imidates metallated

In organic chemistry the term refers to compounds containing the NH2 ion or the > NH group. These are prepared by the action of heat on amides or by metathetica reactions in liquid ammonia. The heavy metal imides are explosive. [Pg.214]

Lithium Amide. Lithium amide [7782-89-0], LiNH2, is produced from the reaction of anhydrous ammonia and lithium hydride. The compound can also be prepared by the removal of ammonia from solutions of lithium metal in the presence of catalysts (54). Lithium amide starts to decompose at 320°C and melts at 375°C. Decomposition of the amide above 400°C results first in lithium imide, Li2NH, and eventually in lithium nitride, Li N. Lithium amide is used in the production of antioxidants (qv) and antihistamines (see HiSTAMlNE AND HISTAMINE ANTAGONISTS). [Pg.225]

Cyclic selenium imides, e.g., Se7NH, are not available as a source of Se-N anions (Section 6.3). The only example of a metal complex of the [SesN] anion, Pt(Se3N)Cl(PMe2Ph), was obtained by the reaction of Sc4N4 with [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)]2. ... [Pg.130]

A variety of complexes of the thionyl imide anion [NSO] with both early and late transition-metal complexes have been prepared and structurally characterized. Since both ionic and covalent derivatives of this anion are readily prepared, e.g., K[NSO], McsMNSO (M = Si, Sn) or Hg(NSO)2, metathetical reactions of these reagents with transition-metal halide complexes represent the most general synthetic method for the preparation of these complexes (Eq. 7.10 and 7.11). ... [Pg.135]

Salts of the [NSO] anion can be used for the synthesis of both transition-metal and main group element thionyl imides by metathetical reactions, e.g., Cp2Ti(NSO)2 and Ph3, .As(NSO)x (x = 1,2), respectively (Section 7.6). [Pg.164]

Thus, jyn-adducts arise predominantly, as expected, according to the Zimmerman-Traxier model. Provided that either boron or zirconium is the enolate-metal atom, high syn selectivity is achieved. The total amount of anti-adducts is lower than 2% in the case of amides 1 and 2, and it approaches zero when the other reagents arc used94 . The induced stereoselectivities are impressive for the amides and remarkable in the case of the imides. [Pg.495]

Titanium imido complexes supported by amidinate ligands form an interesting and well-investigated class of early transition metal amidinato complexes. Metathetical reactions between the readily accessible titanium imide precursors Ti( = NR)Cl2(py)3 with lithium amidinates according to Scheme 84 afforded either terminal or bridging imido complexes depending on the steiic bulk of the amidinate anion. In solution, the mononuclear bis(pyridine) adducts exist in temperature-dependent, dynamic equilibrium with their mono(pyiidine) homologs and free pyridine. [Pg.249]

The hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate and bis(p-nitrophenyl phosphate) are frequently used to probe hydrolytic activity. A problem with some other dinuclear systems is that the Zn units are held together by bridging ligands which can be cleaved on reaction with the substrate.440 This is not the case in a ditopic ligand such as those designed by Lippard and co-workers based on Kemp s triacid imide with a xylyl spacer.441,442 Both zinc dimers and mixed metal dimers were formed and a structure characterized with a bridging phosphodiester (Figure 6). [Pg.1182]

Thus amides are found to be only very weakly basic in water [pKa for ethanamide(acetamide) is =0-5], and if two C=0 groups are present the resultant imides, far from being basic, are often sufficiently acidic to form alkali metal salts, e.g. benzene-1,2-dicarboximide (phthalimide, 8) ... [Pg.68]

AIN, GaN, and InN are attractive materials for applications such as blue lasers and field emitters single-source precursors for these of formula [R2MNR 2]2 (R = alkyl, R = alkyl or H) have been reported.236 The reaction of alkylamines with group 13 trialkyl metal compounds affords oligomeric or polymeric ring and cage structures of metal amides and imides (see section on nitrides). [Pg.1038]
