The UltraLink results from the identification of typed entities and the creation of contextual actions based on the type and context of the tagged entities. [Pg.736]

Although the mass spectra of dibenzothiophene, its sulfoxide, and its sulfone have been recorded, the bulk of published work in this area is mainly of a general nature concerned with the identification of types and classes of sulfur compounds. As a result, detailed fragmentation patterns of dibenzothiophene derivatives are few in number. Mass spectrometry, particularly low electron voltage mass spectrometry, has, however, been extensively used for the identification of dibenzothio-phenes in petroleum. ... [Pg.193]

For more oareful identification of types of Lewis (aprotic) centres, CO adsorption was carried out in small doses (1-10 Jinol per cell) up to satiiration of active surface achieved. To reveal individual lines the separation of IR-spectra was carried out using CK-2 curve synthesiser. Concentration of aprotic centres was determined using coefficients of integral absorption from ref.[9J. The strength of aprotic centres was characterized by the heat of CO adsorbtion according to eq. (2). Concentration of Bronsted (pro-... [Pg.312]

The ligand-model vibrational spectroscopy approach has contributed strongly to fairly reliable identifications on metal surfaces of C2 species of the types 1, 2 (ethene type II spectra) (17), 3 (ethene type I spectra), 4 (ethene type I spectra), 8, and 13 (ethyne type B spectra) as well as to possible identifications of types 5, 7, 15 (ethyne type A spectra), 16, and 20. Approximate band positions and associated intensity distributions in the spectra from normal and perdeutero species should be considered together (/ 7). The correspondence of the infrared spectrum from 4 with type I spectra is less satisfactory for the C2D4 ligand than in most other cases. However an extra structural variable in this case is the degree of nonplanarity of the cyclic C2M2 skeleton, which may differ between the model compound and the surface species. [Pg.26]

In the discussion of the biochemistry of copper in Section 62.1.8 it was noted that three types of copper exist in copper enzymes. These are type 1 ( blue copper centres) type 2 ( normal copper centres) and type 3 (which occur as coupled pairs). All three classes are present in the blue copper oxidases laccase, ascorbate oxidase and ceruloplasmin. Laccase contains four copper ions per molecule, and the other two contain eight copper ions per molecule. In all cases oxidation of substrate is linked to the four-electron reduction of dioxygen to water. Unlike cytochrome oxidase, these are water-soluble enzymes, and so are convenient systems for studying the problems of multielectron redox reactions. The type 3 pair of copper centres constitutes the 02-reducing sites in these enzymes, and provides a two-electron pathway to peroxide, bypassing the formation of superoxide. Laccase also contains one type 1 and one type 2 centre. While ascorbate oxidase contains eight copper ions per molecule, so far ESR and analysis data have led to the identification of type 1 (two), type 2 (two) and type 3 (four) copper centres. [Pg.699]

The arrival of recycling as a system increasingly demanded by legislation could open up significant markets for additives (a) to enhance the properties of plastics recovered from waste and also (b) additives which will facilitate the recycling process, particularly for providing fast and effective identification of types of plastics. [Pg.237]

From lidar measurements there is clear evidence for both solid and liquid PSCs in the polar stratospheres. The volume depolarization of backscat-tered light in aerosol-free air is 1.4 % (due to the polarizability of the air molecules), and data below this value indicate liquid type-lb clouds. Ternary solution droplets in such clouds yield substantial backscatter, but only in the parallel polarization plane. In contrast, type-la clouds have large depolarization ratios but small backscatter. Toon et al, referring to lidar measurements of Browell et al, were the first to describe these characteristics. They showed that type-la clouds consist of only a few very large aspherical particles, but the identification of type-lb as ternary liquids was made only later when the composition and size of stratospheric droplets were calculated. [Pg.145]
