Hydrogen cyanamide

Dormex. Dormex [156-62-7] (Alzodep, hydrogen cyanamide) (26) should not be confused with the same term used for calcium cyanamide. Its other names include carbamide, cyanogenamide, and amidocyanogen. The compound is easily prepared by the continuous carbonation of calcium cyanamide in water (see Cyanamides). [Pg.424]

In North America, calcium cyanamide is no longer used as fertiliser, but it has limited use in special agricultural appHcations for defoHants, fungicides, herbicides, and as a weed killer. The primary industrial use is as a chemical intermediate for the manufacture of calcium cyanide, hydrogen cyanamide solution, and dicyandiamide. Calcium cyanamide is also used to add nitrogen to steel. [Pg.366]

Substitutions. The cyanamide anion is strongly nucleophilic and reacts with most alkylating or acylating reagents (4) addition to a variety of unsaturated systems occurs readily (4). In some cases, a cyanamide salt is used in others, base catalysis suffices. Ethyl iodide reacts with sodium hydrogen cyanamide [17292-62-5] to form a trisubstituted isomelamine. [Pg.367]

Hutchins, M. G. K. et al., Tetrahedron Lett., 1981, 22, 4599-4602 Interaction of sodium hydrogen cyanamide and tert-butyl hypochlorite in methanol at —50°C to ambient temperature forms cyanonitrene. Isolation gave an orange dimeric residue which exploded on two occasions. [Pg.212]

Calcium cyanamide partially hydrolyzes to calcium hydrogen cyanamide, CaHCN2. The final hydrolysis products are calcium carbonate and ammonia. The reaction is slow, occurring in moist soil ... [Pg.164]

Monodeprotonated form ofcyanoguanidine, at trr3f)s- Re(CNMe)(dppe)2 +. Hydrogen-cyanamide, at trons- Re(CNR)(dppe)2 (R = alkyl). [Pg.85]

Water, whether cool or warm, produces some cyanamide, which is readily soluble, and some calcium hydrogen cyanamide, white, microcrystalline, and sparingly soluble, but water plus acid for the removal of the calcium (sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, or carbon dioxide) yields a solution of cyanamide which is directly applicable for use in certain reactions. [Pg.377]

Hydrogen cyanamide has been investigated for genotoxicity, and has generally been shown to lack significant activity. [Pg.696]

Hydrodiuril hydrochlorothiazide, hydroflumethiazide [ban, inn, usan] (Hydrenox Diucardin Saluron etc.) is a (thiazide) diuretic which can be used in antihypertensive therapy, commonly with other classes of diuretics, hydrogen cyanamide cyanamide. hydromorphine dihydromorphine. hydromorphone [ban, inn] (hydromorphone hydrochloride (usan) Dilaudid ) is one of the phenanthrene series, an OPIOID RECEPTOR agonist, which is an OPIOID ANALGESIC. It is used orally or by injection for the relief of moderate to severe pain, hydromorphone hydrochloride hydromorphone. [Pg.145]

AERO-CYANAMID (156-62-7) Combustible solid. Dust or powder forms explosive mixture with air. Contact with water, steam causes decomposition, forming acetylene gas, ammonia, and calcium hydrogen cyanamide. Violent reaction with strong oxidizers, fluorine, strong acids. Incompatible with barium peroxide, boric acid, dry hydrogen, hydrogen peroxide. Contact with all solvents tested also causes decomposition. [Pg.45]
