Hydrazine salts of organic acid

In recent years, some new hydrazinium salts of organic acids have been prepared by neutralization of organic acids with hydrazine hydrate. The reaction of hydrazine hydrate and formic acid in an ice water bath has led to the isolation of a monoformate salt of hydrazine. This hydrazinium monoformate is reported to be a hydrogen donor with Raney nickel [35]. [Pg.76]

The IR spectra of the hydrated salts of hydrazinium benzene tricarbox-ylates and hydrazinium pyromellitates display absorption bands due to 0-H stretching of water, the carbonyl stretching frequencies of the carboxylate ion, and the N-N bond. The frequencies in the range 950-978 cm due to N—N stretching are clear evidence of the presence of N2H5 ion in these salts. [Pg.76]

Hydrazinium salts of 4,5-imidazole-dicarboxylic acid have also been prepared due to the attractive features of 4,5-imidazole-dicarboxylic acid, which is sterically compact, planar, and has multi-donor coordination sites [38]. [Pg.77]

Organic anion based hydrazinium salts have also been prepared by neutralization of aqueous hydrazine hydrate with 2,4-dichlorophenyl-acetic acid, phenoxyacetic acid, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. [Pg.77]

Some salient features of the present investigations of hydrazine salts are as follows  [Pg.79]

Hydrazine (or Hydrazonium)-N,N -dicarbonic Acid Diazide. See under HYDRAZINE SALTS OF ORGANIC ACIDS... [Pg.195]

Salts of organic acids with basic inorganic parts (metals, ammonia, hydrazine, etc.) are found under the acid. [Pg.29]

Several octahedral dihydrazine metal (II) salts of this class were prepared and thermally decomposed. The succinates and malonates of nickel and cadmium decomposed explosively [1]. A later paper on mixed metal bis-hydrazine malonates of cobalt with magnesium, manganese, nickel, zinc or cadmium recommends that decomposition, in a pre-heated crucible at 500°C, be of small quantities only. The same workers have reported exothermic decomposition of similar hydrazine complexed salts of other small organic acids. [Pg.195]

Azides Trinitrides or Triazoates (formerly called Azoimides) are the salts of hydra-zoic acid, HN. This acid is a little stronger than acetic acid. The -N, radical in HN) resembles the chloride ion (Cl ) in its chemical behavior. Hydrazoic acid was first prepd by Curtius (Ref 1) by the reaction of nitrous acid with hydrazine. For addnl info see Hydrazoic Acid. Azides may be divided into two main classes inorganic and organic. [Pg.520]

Colloidal Tellurium.—On reduction of dilute solutions of tellurium dioxide or telluric acid by means of hydrazine, hydroxylamine, hypo-phosphorous acid, sulphurous acid or salts of these compounds, brown or blue colloidal solutions can be obtained, the stability of which is greatly increased by the presence of an organic colloid such as gum arabic, sodium lysalbate or sodium protalbate.8 Similarly the addition of an extract of the seeds of Plantago psyllium, in amount not exceeding 0-3 per cent., renders extremely stable the sols obtained by the reduction of telluric acid with hydrazine hydrate.9 Stable sols may also be obtained by the reduction of telluric acid with dextrose in the presence of ammonia. Dialysis does not completely remove the adsorbed dextrose and this undoubtedly contributes to the remarkable stability.10 The particles of colloidal tellurium in these sols are negatively charged. [Pg.355]
