Quaternary oxalkylated polycondensates can be prepared by esterification of an oxalkylated primary fatty amine with a dicarbonic acid. An organometallic titanium compound is used as a catalyst for condensation [842]. The reaction product is then oxalkylated in the presence of a carbon acid [841], These polycondensates can be used as demulsifiers for crude oil emulsions and as corrosion inhibitors in installations for the production of natural gas and crude oil they can and also be used in processing. [Pg.342]

Another rather striking example demonstrates that the fluorescence efficiency of the respective dicarboxylates is not the most important factor in determining the chemiluminescence efficiencies of the hydrazides 9.10-diphenylanthracene-2.3-dicarbonic acid 25 has a fluorescence efficiency of about 0.9 (as has the parent compound 9.10-di-phenylanthracene) 94>. The corresponding hydrazide 26, however, gives a quantum yield of 48% that of luminol only (in DMSO/t-BuOK/ O2) 95) although 3-aminophtalic acid has a fluorescence efficiency of about 0.3 only. [Pg.93]

Decarboxylation of 117 was effected by treatment of 117 with LiCl in hot, aqueous HMPA at 105 °C providing 118 as a mixture of diastereomers that were separated and carried forward individually. Protection of the secondary amide group as the corresponding methyl lactim ether was accomplished by treating 118 with trimethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate in dichloromethane that contained cesium carbonate. Next, the indole nitrogen atom was protected as the corresponding Boc derivative by treatment with dicarbonic acid bis(rm-butyl)ester in the presence of DMAP and the silyl ether was removed with tetrabutylammonium fluoride to provide diol 119 in 52-78% overall yield from 118. Selective conversion of the allylic alcohol to the corresponding... [Pg.369]

Cyclic ketones are suitable starting material for the preparation of corresponding oximes and dicarbonic acids, which are key intermediates for the production of various types of nylons. Recently, BASF announced [176] the development of a new process for cyclododecanone production via the ketonization of cyclododecene (entry 4, Table 7.9), for which commercialization is expected in 2009. [Pg.237]

Polyesterurethanes, polycarbonate and silicone rubbers have been studied by TG-Tenax-FTIR/MS. The degradation of polyesterurethanes yields C02, water, tetrahydrofurans, cyclopentanone, dicarbonic acid, and aliphatic diols and esters. The thermal decomposition of silicone rubbers leads to the formation of polychlorinated biphenyls which are produced in small amounts and can be observed in the mass spectrometer [86]. [Pg.23]

Jansen and co-workers [86] have evaluated temperature-controlled outgassing processes of plastics and rubbers using both off-line and on-line TD-GC-FTIR-MS. Decomposition of polyesterurethanes by means of TG-Tenax off-line sampling followed by TD-GC-FTIR-MS revealed C02, H20, tetrahydrofurane, cyclopentanone, dicarbonic acid, aliphatic diols and esters [86]. The same authors have also described the detection of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) in 2,4-dichlorobenzoylperoxide cured silicone rubbers after outgassing products of a rubber silicone part obtained after desorption for 10 minutes at 200 °C in the thermal desorption cold-trap and subsequent analysis by means of TD-GC-MS. Using a mass range of 290-294 Da the MS can be used as a selective detector for these substances. [Pg.35]

Ternaux and Chamoin described an enhanced chemiluminescence assay method for the determination of acetylcholine [48]. Reaction medium was prepared by mixing 250iu/mL of choline oxidase (100 pL), 2mg/mL of horse-radish peroxidase (50 pL) and 10-120 pM luminol in 100 pL of 0.1 M Tris buffer (pH 8.6), or 100 pL of 10-100 pM 7-dimethylamino-naphthalene-l,2-dicarbonic acid hydrazide, for 10min in 5mL of 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 8.6). Aqueous 0.325-80 pmol of acetylcho-lineesterase (50 pL) purified on a Sephadex G50 coarse column was mixed with 450 pL of reaction mixture, and the chemiluminescence was measured at 21° C. [Pg.72]
