Himalayan rabbit

Within this context, outbred rats like Wistar or Sprague-Dawley are the most widely used rodents, while New Zealand White or Himalayan rabbits (the latter especially in Europe) are the most frequently used non-rodents. Care should be taken when inbred strains are used, since they may express genetic clusters which can complicate the interpretation of the results. [Pg.42]

In a preliminary study the anesthetic effect of proxymetacaine hydrochloride (5 mg/ml) was tested in 5 male and 5 female albino rabbits (White Himalayan). One drop of the anesthetic was instilled in one eye per animal. The contralateral eye was treated with physiological saline solution as control. Measurements were performed before treatment as well as 1,30, and 60 minutes after treatment. [Pg.288]

Azelastine ophthalmic solutions were tested in 3 albino rabbits (White Himalayan) each per concentration. The concentrations used were 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.5%. A single application of one drop into the conjunctival sac of one eye per animal was given. [Pg.288]
