High temperature oxidation of y-NiCrAI modelling and experiments

High temperature oxidation of y-NiCrAI modelling and experiments [Pg.582]

After high-temperature XRD, an oxide/alloy cross-section was prepared from the oxidised alloy as follows. First a gold layer was deposited on the oxide scale by sputtering. Then, a nickel layer was plated on top of the gold layer using a Watts bath. Next, the specimen was cut perpendicular to the specimen surface with a diamond saw. Finally, the oxide/alloy cross-section was ground and polished as described above. [Pg.583]

The obtained oxide/alloy cross-section was investigated with a JEOL [Pg.583]

JSM 6500F SEM, equipped with an Autrata [8] detector for observation of BSE images and a Noran Pioneer 30 mm Si(Li) detector for energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS). The X-ray spectra acquisition and processing was performed with a ThermoNoran Vantage system (version 2.3). [Pg.584]
