High-resolution 3D imaging

The field of laser lithography (also often called laser microfabrication) branched out from multiphoton excitation microscopy and has become established during the last decade. The principles of two-photon microscopy, which has enabled high-resolution 3D imaging [3,4] and optical memory [5], were gradually adapted for 3D laser hthography [6]. A relevant collection of seminal papers on the field can be found in [7]. [Pg.160]

These two questions have been addressed and partly solved by Colbeck" twenty years ago, but the results where based on 2D observations and very simple approximations on the snow geometry. In our approach, we would like to take advantage of X-ray microtomographic techniques and revisit these questions by using high-resolution 3D images. [Pg.181]

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is a high-resolution 3D imaging technique capable of measuring topographical features to less than 1 nm (Binning et al., 1986). A cantilever with a sharp tip is brought into contact with the surface, in which the force between the tip and the surface results in deflection of the cantilever. The cantilever is rastered over... [Pg.37]

Current conventional light microscopy allows real-time, high-resolution 3D imaging. Volume or 3D imaging can be obtained in a number of ways, such as stereo viewing, confocal microscopy (cfr. [Pg.467]
