Molecular modelling and computational chemistiy, linked together through the advent of high-performance computers and the advances in software, are currently employed successfully to simulate the structure and properties of drag molecules. 

Curtis L. Janssen is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories and holds a Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He has an extensive publication record in the areas of quantum chemistry methods development and high-performance computing, and he is the lead developer of the MPQC program suite.

After 1 joined the lEEE-USA Health Care Engineering Policy Committee, I helped found, and ultimately chaired, the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and High Performance Computers and Communications (HPCC) Subcommittees. In the latter role, I was chosen to be an expert witness to Congress on the area of HPCC, and to craft a policy-level position statement. I also became a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Security team of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, which developed the report to Congress on the security of health data and communications.
