TOPI-CAT toxicology prediction tool Health Designs Inc. (HDI)... [Pg.169]

There are two commercially available expert systems that rely on a statistical approach TOPKAT, which was developed by Health Designs Inc. but is now owned by Accelrys [18], and CASE/MultiCASE, developed at Case Western University [31]. [Pg.482]

Ketones as a group are considered narcotic. The primary hazard of the esters is polymerization. Many of them are flammable liquids and polymers. The DOT does list some ester compounds as Class 6.1 poisons and, again, these compounds have chlorine added, which accounts for their toxicity. For example, ethyl chloroformate is an ester that has an NFPA health designation of 4. Remember that too much of any chemical can be toxic, so too much of an anesthetic or a narcotic can be toxic. [Pg.282]

Avoid bringing hazards into the workplace—by incorporating safety and health design and material specifications in procurement contracts for facilities, equipment, and materials. [Pg.12]

Environmental safety and health design features These have an impact on product design features and could become an integral part of the product to reduce the likelihood and consequence of propagation of hazards [1]. So, these are part of the product. [Pg.177]
