The majority of the literature reports deal with the reaction of calixarenes with Group I and II cations. Polymeric calixarenes have been the subject of a more recent innovation. Harris et al. [23] have prepared a calix[4]ar-ene methacrylate, its polymerization, and Na complex-ation (Scheme 3). They concluded that both monomers and polymers form stable complexes with sodium thiocyanate. 

Soil resuspension has the capability of entraining significant volumes of Pb into the air of urban areas. Harris Davidson (2005) calculated that resuspension of soil is responsible for generating 54,000 kg of airborne Pb each year in the South Coast Air Basin of California (SOCAB) and will remain a major source well into the future. Similarly, Lankey et al. (1998) concluded that 43% of Pb emissions in the South Coast Air Basin in California resulted from the resuspension of soil and road dust. 

Eric Harris was born April 9,1981, in Wichita, Kansas, to Wayne and Kathy Harris. His father was a Major in the U.S. Air Force, and moved his family a number of times before retirement in July of 1993 when he moved them to Littleton, Colorado. Like Dylan Klebold, Eric Harris had a brother who was three years older. Eric first met Dylan at Ken Caryl Middle School in Littleton. As a youngster, Eric played soccer and baseball, had an interest in computers, baseball cards, computer games, and videos. In high school, he was involved in video productions and the Columbine Rebel News Network, and computer labs. He used the nickname Reb, whereas Dylan Klebold used the nickname VoDKa with his initials capitalized. On March 18,1998, the Jefferson County Sheriff s Office wrote a suspicious incident report coming from Randy Brown, father of Brooks Brown who was an acquaintance of Eric Harris. His son had...

The sex pheromone of the female dogwood borer, Synanthedon sci-tula Harris (Lepidoptera Sesiidae), was identified as a blend of (Z,Z)-3,13-octadecadienyl acetate(a), (Z,Z)-2,13-octadecadienyl acetate (b), and E, Z)-3,13-octadecadienyl acetate (c) in a ratio of 88 6 6 respectively. Further analysis indicated that (a) was the major component and was attractive by itself A mixture of (a) and (b) enhanced the activity. Attraction was strongly antagonized by the addition of (Z,Z)-3,13-octadecadienyl acetate.
