Funds growth

Polymers, ceramics, and composite materials. In addition to continued growth in support for research on polymers and polymeric composites, a new thmst is recommended to establish six to eight centers for the chemical engineering of ceramic materials and composites over the next 5 years, funded at a total annual level of 4 million per year. Cross-disciplinary pioneers should also be supported in this area. [Pg.195]

FIGURE A.l Industrial support of academic chemical engineering nearly quadrupled from 1980 to 1986 and is the major factor behind growth in academic funding in this period. Data from Council for Chemical Research. [Pg.198]

This book consists of a series of works that evaluate various aspects related to the public financing of pharmaceuticals. In all health systems with majority public funding, the financing of pharmaceuticals constitutes one of the key factors in reform policies and health cost containment measures. This importance of pharmaceutical spending can be explained by both its relative size (its share within health expenditure as a whole), and its rapid growth, which is closely related to the constant incorporation of therapeutic innovations. [Pg.11]

China is likely to become a major influence in petrochemicals in the late 1980 s, particularly in Asia, if the current growth schedule holds firm. That China will be a significant exporter of petrochemicals is due to two important factors. One, the need for massive offshore funds, and Two, the inability of China s downstream capacity and domestic demand to absorb this sudden surge in output. The exportable surplus of petrochemicals will include substantial quantities of benzene, propylene and perhaps C4 fractions, HDPE, PVC, ethanol, SBR/BR, and possibly polypropylene. [Pg.340]
