Mineralorganic fillers can be produced by mixing mineral fillers, like ash from heating and power plants, chalk, glass spheres, etc., with organic fillers such as saw-dust, ground nut shells, starch, etc. These immense possibilities have not been exploited yet. [Pg.4]

The fatty acid composition of rice bran oil is most similar to peanut or ground nut oil (Table 14) (8). Palmitic, oleic, and hnoleic acids make up more than 90% of the fatty acids present. The major molecular species of triacylglycerols are palmi-tic-linolenic-oleic, oleic-linoleic-palmitic, pahnitic-hnoleic-linoleic, hnolenic-lino-leic-palmitic, and trioleic. As with peanut oil, rice bran oil is most suited for general frying and cooking applications. [Pg.1118]

Various oils present in natural extracts have been classified as fixed oils or high boiling oils and essential or volatile oils. Very popular fixed oils are neem oils (nonedible), coconut, ground nut, soya, Sunflower, mustard etc. oils (edible). Some of the popular essential oils are rose oil, eucalyptus, lemon grass, jasmine, etc. oils of fragrance grade and cumin, coriander, cardamom, clove etc. of flavor grades. [Pg.152]

The success of the regenerated cellulosic fibres stimulated the imagination of chemists. The obvious sequel was to produce a regenerated protein with properties resembling wool or silk. Much research and capital expenditure has been devoted to the production of lanital from milk casein, ardil from ground-nut protein, saran from soya bean, and vicara from maize. None of them proved really commercially successful and their manufacture has now virtually ceased. [Pg.36]

Ardil, which was manufactured in considerable quantities, is no longer in production. It was made from proteins extracted from ground-nuts which grow prolifically in Africa. The nuts were ground into a meal and the fat was extracted with organic solvents. The meal was then suspended in water to which sufficient caustic soda had been added to bring the pH to... [Pg.129]
