Grid-integrated system

Building integrated PV systems have been installed on the roofs and facades of houses, factories, offices, schools, public buildings and stadiums. The power produced can be on site, stored or fed to the grid. Most systems, except for the very smallest, are connected to local supply networks, and with suitable connections and metering, many owners can sell their surplus current to the utility. [Pg.215]

System safety should especially be applied to complex systems with safety-critical imphcations, such as nuclear power, underwater oil drilhng rigs, commercial aircraft, computer-managed automobiles, and surgery. System safety should also be applied to integrated systems and systems of systems, such as automobiles within a traffic grid system within a highway system within a human habitat system. [Pg.8]

A control subsystem is needed not only to control the fuel cell operating parameters (flow rates, temperature, humidity, etc.) but also to communicate with the load and other electrical components of the system. This is particularly critical for applications where a fuel cell operates integrated within an electrical grid. Tbe functioning of the electric and control subsystems depends on application [e.g., stand-alone, grid integrated, combined with another power source, backup power). [Pg.326]

Some convergence problems are due to numerical accuracy problems. Many programs use reduced accuracy integrals at the beginning of the calculation to save CPU time. However, this can cause some convergence problems for difficult systems. A course DFT integration grid can also lead to accuracy problems, as can an incremental Fock matrix formation procedure. [Pg.195]
