Gorin model

Setser carried out rrkm quantum statistical calculations for the decomposition of acetaldehyde molecule into free radicals. He examined three models out of which two were of the loose type ones, fitting essentially the Gorin model , while the third one was a tighter complex. The calculations definitely show that the decomposition is in the pressure-dependent region even around 100 torr. [Pg.245]

The ion induced-dipole potential and the corresponding Langevin rate expression have proven to be of great value in the interpretation of numerous studies of ion-molecule reaction kinetics (see chapters 2 and 3 by Canosa et al, and by Gerlich). For neutral reactions, a f/i potential, which can be taken to represent dispersion and/or dipole induced-dipole interactions, has provided a similarly important reference potential. The Gorin model, which is based on PST like assumptions for this potential, provides a simple expression for the capture rate ... [Pg.181]

The activation energy for the thermal dissociation of Pb(C2Hs)4 was reported to be 37 kcal/mol [1] see also [4]. Using the technique of very-low-pressure pyrolysis bond dissociation energies AH29s==49 (fixed vibrational transition state) or preferably 54.5 kcal/mol (Gorin model), and Eg = 49 to 53 kcal/mol have been determined [17]. [Pg.95]

Gorin has extended this analysis to include (1) the effects of the finite size of the counterions in the double layer of spherical particles [137], and (2) the effects of geometry, i.e. for cylindrical particles [2]. The former is known as the Debye-Huckel-Henry-Gorin (DHHG) model. Stigter and coworkers [348,369-374] considered the electrophoretic mobility of polyelectrolytes with applications to the determination of the mobility of nucleic acids. [Pg.587]

Bhattacharjee and Gorin utilized trimethylsilyl derivatives of methyl maimosides in a model study on mannose ethers, and recommended these compounds for the separation of the dimethyl isomers in particular. Handa and Montgomery likewise used trimethylsilyl ethers in a study of the partial methylation of methyl a-o-mannopyranoside, and Choy and Unrau gave similar data for 2,3,6- and 2,4,6-tri-O-methyl-n-mannose. [Pg.25]

The structure depicted for the trimer is compatible with Gorin s data. A model mannose phosphodiester has been synthesized (38). [Pg.189]
