Glycosides, antitumour

H. Ouadid-Ahidouch, and J. M. Garcia Fernandez, Synthesis of N-, S-, and C-glycoside castanosper-mine analogues with selective neutral a-glucosidase inhibitory activity as antitumour agents, Chem. Commun., 46 (2010) 5328-5330. [Pg.296]

Spirocyclic C-aryl glycosides and styryllactones are carbohydrate-based lactones. Spirocyclic C-aryl glycosides are isolated from a strain of Papularia sphaerosperna and constitute a family of novel antifungal antibiotics. They serve as an excellent antifungal agent against Candida tropicalis, Candida albicans and Pneumocystis carinii. Styryllactones are enantiomers of ([))-altholactone, a natural product which possesses antitumour and cytotoxic activities. [Pg.47]

Novel sulphur-containing sugars have been detected in antitumour antibiotics PD 114759 and PD 115028. Methanolysis yielded unstable glycosides considered to be methyl 4-alkylthio-2,4-dideoxy-3-0-methyl-cf- and - -pentopyranoside (from n.m.r. data), and methyl 2,4,6-trideoxy-4-methylthio-oi - and - -lyxo-hexopyranoside (36) (L-series assumed) n.m.r. evidence also suggested a third thio sugar was present, a 4,6-dideoxy-4-mercapto-hexopyranose, which accounts... [Pg.196]

Glycoside antibiotic, struct, not fully known. Isol. from Nocardioides sp. 1681J. Inhibitor of 5 -Nucleotidase. Also shows antitumour activity. Powder. Sol. H2O, DMSO poorly sol. MeOH, hexane. [Pg.717]

Antiviral, cytotoxic and anti-ATPase activities of 14 synthetic digitoxigenyl glycosides have been correlated with each other. The synthesis and antimicrobial properties of methyl-3-0 alkyl-D-glucopyranosides have been described.Carbohydrate Af,iV-bis(2-chloroethyl)phosphora-midates have been prepared, and some showed antitumour activity. ... [Pg.259]

A new antitumour tetracycline antibiotic, SF 2575, isolated from the Streptomyces strain bearing this coding, contains 4-0-angeloyl-2,6-dideoxy-arai/no-hexopyranose linked as a C-glycoside to the A ring of the aglycone. ... [Pg.213]

Glycosides of the antitumour alkaloid camptothecin and an enantiomer of gilvocarcin M are mentioned in Chapter 3. [Pg.215]

The synthesis of the avobiose unit in avoparcin, of bioactive methyl oleonolate diglycosides, and of antifungal diosgenyl glycosides is mentioned in Chapter 3. The synthesis of antitumour glycosylamino-indoloquinolines is covered in Chapter 10, and the preparation of methyl a-D-evalopyranoside, present in orthosomycin antibiotics, is referred to in Chapter 14. [Pg.220]

H-(3-Ethylindolyl)-D-xylopyranosylamine, eight H-(substituted-phenyl)pentopyranosylamines, and their M-nitroso-derivatives have been synthesized and their mutagenicities reported. The synthesis and antitumour activity of quaternary ellipticine N-glycosides is covered in Chapter 19, and the e.i.-m.s. fragmentation of per-Q-acetylated H-(4-substituted-phenyl)glycopyranosylamines in Chapter 22. [Pg.108]

The absolute configuration of the antitumour antibiotic vireomycin Aj (48) has been established by characterization of its 0-glycosidic components, or -L-rhodinose (2,3,6-trideoxy-L-... [Pg.199]

Reference to the antitumour glycoside (-)-phyllanthostatin, a C-1 ester, is made in Chapter 1y. Macrocyclic esters (15) isolated from the root of Ipomoea orizabensis, have (11R)-hydroxypalmitic... [Pg.66]

Hydroxyel1ipticene N-glycosides, which can show high antitumour activity, are mentioned in Chapter 10. [Pg.197]
