Resin Ipomea, Resin of Mexican scammony. Made by extracting the dried roots of Ipomoea orizabensis Ledenois, Convolvulaceae with alcohol and pp>8 with water. 

Occurs in jalap and Scammony resins (Ipomoea orizabensis and Convolvulus scammonia) and other I. spp., in glycosidic form. Cryst. (EtOAc). Mp 68-69°. [a]j +0.79° (CHCI3).
