Globalization: influence

This section illustrates some of the more global influences at the organizational level which create the preconditions for error. Inadequate policies in areas such as the design of the human-machine interface, procedures, training, and the organization of work will also have contributed implicitly to many of the other human errors considered in this chapter. [Pg.35]

Influences of micromixing and pressure fluctuation What are the mechanisms of their effects How can direct experimental evidence be obtained for these effects How can these influences be quantitatively described How can their individual contributions to the global influence be determined ... [Pg.267]

The ISO Standard 9002 is a major global influence on procedures and document control. It identifies the need for production and installation instructions where the absence of such instmctions would adversely affect quality. Although this is a general statement, it is difficult to think of a task worth doing that does not or cannot potentially affect quality as well as safety. The ISO standard addresses procedures in general by requiring that all documentation involved with quality be controlled. Table 2-2 outlines the major points of ISO 9002 dealing with dociunentation and procedures. [Pg.15]

Anthropogenic and transient type Finally, Pb and Pu are good examples of elements whose oceanic distributions are globally influenced by human activities (see Anthropogenic Trace Elements in the Ocean). Their oceanic distributions are changing with time. Although some others, such as Hg, Sn, Cd, and Ag, are deduced to be similarly influenced, their transient nature has not yet been proven through direct observation. [Pg.10]

Simultaneously Vernadsky writes his fundamental, Jfistory of Natural Waters (1933-1936). In this book he not only outlined a geological history of waters but also described the global influence of the humankind on the water resources of the planet. [Pg.8]

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) is the trade association for the U.S. chemical industry and has global influence because of the international nature of the chemical industry. ACC is well known for its Responsible Care program, which is a global initiative established in 1988 focused... [Pg.32]
