Global Scenario

Though there are hundreds of companies engaged in the business of aroma chemicals, it is strange that the top eight full service companies—manufacturers in all three categories of flavors, fragrances, and aroma chemicals—enjoy two-thirds of the World s total business. A few hundred small companies account for only one-third of the business. [Pg.164]

The availability of basic ingredients and their prices no doubt decide about the size of business. Most of the big multinational companies are no doubt active in most of the important cities in the world, either they have manufacturing bases or offices. For example, major players that are active in aroma chemicals have built their factories in various parts of the world in order to meet the local demands. Today the fragrance business worldwide is represented by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) which was originally comprised of 14 member countries (Table 10.3). [Pg.165]

Thanks to internationalization of business, most of the key players in the business of fiavors and fragrances know exactly where they should establish manufacturing facilities for the aroma chemicals. This will do doubt be dictated by the political scenario of a particular country, availability of reasonably trained and cheap labor cost, and most importantly the availability of the basic raw materials (natural and also synthetically made). Needless to emphasize that China and India—the two largest countries in the world—with more than 2 billion people will be two major [Pg.165]

To complete the formulation of the global scenario describing the level of food provision for Homo sapiens, consider the law of changing stock-breeding productivity. Suppose that with the constant constituent kFSi, it increases in proportion with agricultural investments qVi with the coefficient kF-t and has the varying-in-time constituent with an exponential law of change ... [Pg.113]

Scenarios of human development are the basic subject of discussions at both global international and regional national levels (Yakovets, 1997 Troyan and Dementiev, 2005). Constructing global scenarios is based on the theory of sustainable development, the elements of which are rather difficult to create, and it is... [Pg.115]

Moreover, the introduction on the market of novel food products whose consumption is beneficial to prevent health risks available for a wide range of consumers and not only limited to niche markets due to the elevated costs of industrial transformation could also sustain the agro-food industry of developed countries in the very aggressive globalized scenario. [Pg.789]

A garment that conforms smoothly to an individual s body shape and moves effortlessly with every move one makes is possible using seamless technology with Tactel and Lycra yarns. The alternate needle selection knitting makes fabric open and less elastic, particularly in the welt and the cuff areas. In this context, elastic, hexible, and durable yams such as wool are recommended. In the current global scenario wool such as cashmere, and angora, and manufactured hbre such as acrylic, are used to create seamless outerwear. Viscose and polyamide with Lycra or other elastomerics are also among the other choices. [Pg.377]
