Glass homogeneity

The examination was performed with the apple variety Jonagold. Apple pieces weighting 0.3-0.5 g without skin were homogenized in a Potter-type glass homogenizer and then centrifuged. Before examination, the supernatant was diluted 1 10 with double distilled water. PCL measurements were performed with 2 pL of the diluted supernatant. Apple juice contains mainly vitamin C and caroti-noids as principal ACW components. [Pg.520]

To suspend a pellet of microsomal fraction, we used a glass pipet with a bent tip and a Teflon/glass homogenizer. [Pg.163]

Fig. 1. Flow chart for isolation of endoplasmic reticulum from mulberry cortical parenchyma cells. All procedures are performed at 4°C. Centrifugation times are given as the time at full speed, not included the acceleration and braking time. Resuspension of the microsomal fraction pellet is accomplished using a Teflon/ glass homogenizer. Fig. 1. Flow chart for isolation of endoplasmic reticulum from mulberry cortical parenchyma cells. Add 5 mL of solubilization buffer to each pellet and incubate at room temperature for 10-15 min to soften inclusion bodies. Try to break the pellet apart with sterile plastic pestle or by passing it through a glass homogenizer. Some insoluble material can still remain in the solution after this step. [Pg.288]

The enzyme was prepared from rat liver. A homogenate was prepared in sucrose with a Teflon-glass homogenizer. A series of differential centrifugations (2000g for 10 min, 16,000 for 45 min, and 105,000 for 60 min) produced a microsomal pellet that was used as the enzyme source. [Pg.289]

Cerebral tissues were homogenized with a glass homogenizer and used as the source of the diesterase activity. [Pg.320]

Resuspend fresh tissues in buffer A (weight/volume ratio = 1 20) and gently disrupt by 10 up-and-down strokes in a Teflon-glass homogenizer. [Pg.166]

Dissect the hippocampi on a cooled Petri dish and transfer them immediately to a 5-mL Teflon-glass homogenizer containing ice-cold homogenization buffer (2.5 mL of buffer/rat see Note 6). [Pg.37]

Without producing air bubbles, carefully homogenize the suspension by hand using a 1-mL Teflon-glass homogenizer (five strokes). [Pg.38]

Two Dounce glass-glass homogenizers (5 mL, Braun Salm en Kipp, The Netherlands) each with loose-fitting pestle and tight-fitting pestle. [Pg.51]

Motor-driven, 25-mL Potter-Elvehjem (Teflon-glass) homogenizer with a pestle clearance of 0.125 mm. [Pg.62]
