If you choose Options... from the Tools menu and choose the General tab, you can change several default settings that will apply to all future workbooks, such as the number of sheets in a new workbook. You can also switch from using Al-style references in formulas to RlCl-style references the labels in the column header row of each worksheet change from A, B, C,... to 1, 2,3,.... Formulas using RlCl-style references will not be discussed in this book. [Pg.4]

To make a workbook read-only, the document should be closed. In the Windows Start menu, choose Programs, and then Windows Explorer. In the Exploring window, open the drive or folder that contains the file and select the document name. Choose Properties from the File menu, choose the General tab, and check the Read-only check box. [Pg.41]

If you want to prevent a particular driver from loading, you can go to the tab that represents the file from which the driver is loaded and uncheck the box in front of the driver you want to eliminate. Or, from the General tab, you can check Diagnostic Startup in the Startup Selection area and then reboot the computer. Projects can automatically be backed up as you work. This will give you some security in case the original file is deleted or becomes corrupt. These. acd-bak files can be opened with the File > Open command and saved. Backup files can be automatically created every time you save the project if the Create project file backups on save (.acd-bak) item is selected in the Preferences dialog on the General tab (Options > Preferences). The type of track into which an audio file is inserted can be changed in the Track Properties window. To view the Track Properties window, from the View menu, select Track Properties or press Alt + 6 on your keyboard. To see a specific track s properties, click that track the Track Properties window will immediately display that track s properties. The General tab in the Track Properties window has the Track type list, which displays and lets you change the type of track for that media file. [Pg.179]

The General tab in the Track Properties window serves a number of basic purposes It sets the Track type, displays the loop s properties, and allows you to add media file level markers and regions (see Figure 9.5). [Pg.185]

Files on CD-ROM obviously cannot be renamed. Files that have been copied from a CD-ROM to your hard disk may have their Attributes (permissions) set to Read-only, which means they cannot be changed. To change the permissions, right-click a file and, from the context menu, select Properties. Then, on the General tab in the Attributes section, deselect the Read-only check box. You can do this to all files within a single folder by pressing Ctrl -I-A to select all. [Pg.278]
