From the chemists has come the classification of adhesives and sealants by chemical type, and from the mechanical engineers the classification as either structural or non-structural. Neither is a pure system, since many adhesives and sealants have more than a single chemical base resin, and many structural -based resin systems are used in non-structural applications. In a chapter entitled Structural Adhesives we are told that the term structural adhesive came into general use in the 1960 1970 period, but to this day all definitions are inadequate [9, Chap. 7]. Specific codes, guides, and standards related to the assessment of reinforced concrete structures are generally not as well developed as in, say, the mechanical engineering and metallic materials domains. However, the essential purpose of a detailed condition survey provides useful terms of reference. This is usually threefold First, the extent of deterioration has to be determined second, the mechanisms and causes of deterioration should be established and finally, a corrosion control and/or repair strategy has to be specified. 

Prom this short smnmary we can note that, as a general trend, commercial and open-source optimization tools are rather far apart in terms of usability and flexibility (but this distinction, arguably, affects all technical software) on one hand, commercial tools prefer usability over flexibility, as they typically address the needs of users who are not necessarily specialized in programming and optimization (such as mechanical engineers, designers, logistic experts, and other corporate technical figures for which optimization is simply a tool). 

Non-Newtonian flow processes play a key role in many types of polymer engineering operations. Hence, formulation of mathematical models for these processes can be based on the equations of non-Newtonian fluid mechanics. PET, PTT, and PBT have similar molecular structure and general properties and find similar applications as engineering thermoplastic polymers in fibers, films, and solid-state molding resins. PEN is significantly superior in terms of thermal and mechanical resistance and barrier properties.
