The cloud stabilisation effect of the enzymes depends on the apple sort. The cloud stabilisation obtained with three apple sorts with galactanase and with the combination of galactanase, RGase A and RGAE respectively is shown in Table II.

As seen on Table IV RGase A is only able to solubilize 7% of the CWM, whereas addition of RGAE and galactanase increases the solubilisation to 17% and 44% respectively. The solubilisation of the CWM by RGase B is less dependent on the presence of the other pectino-lytic enzymes, as 37% are solubilized with RGase B alone. 

Incubation of SBP with CinnAE alone gave a single peak of absorbance at 310 nm corresponding to FA (0.91% of the alkali-extractable ferulic acid was released). No feruloylated material was released when SBP was incubated with a mixture of endo-(, 4)-p-D-galactanase and /3-D-galactosidase. There was no increase in FA release when CinnAE was supplemented with these two enzymes. 

Preteatment with pectinases improves meehanieal debarking of wood significantly. In addition to polygalacturonase, enzymes hydrolysing the neutral polymers in cambial tissue (arabinanase, galactanase, and glucanase) are needed for effective solubilization of spruce cambium. 

Hydrolysis of mannan-type polysaccharides by P-mannanase is dependent on substitution on and within the main-chain as well as the source of the P-mannanase employed. Characterisation of reaction products can be used to define the sub-site binding requirements of the enzymes as well as the fine-structures of the polysaccharides. Action of c/xt/o-arabinanase and em/o-galactanase on arabinans and arabinogalactans is described. Specific assays for ndo-arabinanase and arabinan (in fruit-juice concentrates) are reported.
